Jul 8, 2016 at 6:53 | comment | added | SwiftPushkar | @TheDestroyer Yes , as Lord Krishna himself told in Shree Gita "स्वधर्मो निधनं श्रेयम" , your comments is very fit to verse. Well said :)
Jul 8, 2016 at 6:36 | comment | added | The Destroyer♦ | @SwiftPushkar whoever dies in battlefield like a warrior reaches heaven. So, all those Pandava army and Kaurava army who died on battlefield (that's what their Dharma, to fight as Kshatriyas) in doing their Dharma reached heaven, Same can be applied to all those soldiers who die in wars.
Jul 8, 2016 at 6:12 | comment | added | SwiftPushkar | @The Destroyer , - yes you are quite right in some way , that all the warrior's reached heaven rather than moksha. I have read somewhere about this , and your clarification seems more correcr to me. Well thanks for providing your view :)
Jul 8, 2016 at 2:12 | comment | added | The Destroyer♦ | @SwiftPushkar i don't think all those who died in war got Moksha. They went to heaven but they will return to Earth later. I think they already returned to earth and you can see how the world is now. Matsya Purana says after many wars were fought between Devas and Asuras, all those dead Asuras were born on Earth and became burden to Earth. So, Vishnu with his attendants (born as Yadavas) and Devas helped to reduce burden on earth. I think he will born again as Kalki and reduce the burden once again.
Jul 7, 2016 at 21:20 | comment | added | SwiftPushkar | @KeshavSrinivasan , I will omit "Uddhav Gita"Part.
Jul 7, 2016 at 19:59 | comment | added | Keshav Srinivasan♦ | @SwiftPushkar No, in the Uddhava Gita Krishna does not discuss the Kurukshetra war or anything about Yudhisthira and Duryodhana. The website you linked to is completely wrong.
Jul 7, 2016 at 19:57 | comment | added | SwiftPushkar | @KeshavSrinivasan , I have mentioned the uddhav Gita part , just for the point that some sort of discussion was carried out about this issue, and lord Krishna has given some answers , clarification about his non-intervention. In Uddhav Gita lord didn't mention game of dice spcifically but about Kurukshetra war , I have used his explanation to build my answer.
Jul 7, 2016 at 19:47 | comment | added | Keshav Srinivasan♦ | @SwiftPushkar Well, unfortunately I do find something incorrect in your answer, namely the claim that this is discussed by Krishna in the Uddhava Gita. The Uddhava Gita doesn't mention the dice game at all.
Jul 7, 2016 at 19:45 | comment | added | SwiftPushkar | @Keshav shrinivasan , you are right it was grand plan. Even all those who have died at Kurukshetra got moksha. And krishna wanted it to happen. But the question is spcifically about game of dice , so I have given some different answer. Pls .requesting you to recheck my answer if you find something incorrect. Many thanks :)
Jul 7, 2016 at 19:31 | comment | added | Keshav Srinivasan♦ | As far as I know, neither the Mahabharata nor any other scripture discusses why Mrishna wasn't involved in the dice game episode. But I suppose the ultimate reason is that Krishna wanted it to happen to trigger the Mahabharata war as part of his grand plan to reduce the burden of the Earth.
