May 20, 2017 at 7:23 | comment | added | ram | @TheDestroyer, if someone knows which page on internet to reference, feel free to edit, or create new answer. These info is probably buried in ramayana or puranas somewhere.. i don't know where to find it.

May 19, 2017 at 16:03 | comment | added | ram | @SwiftPushkar, i didn't mention the quora site for source, just for detailed explanation. I don't know which scripture has this info, if you can find it, feel free to edit my answer, or create new answer .. i don't care much about upvotes :), as long as right answer is upvoted
May 19, 2017 at 16:00 | comment | added | ram | These 'changes' between varnas are called varna-sankara meaning mixing of castes. And it usually leads to problems in society since people are torn between choosing their hereditary occupation or their natural urges. Arjuna, in Gita, says he fears this might happen in Kali Yuga if all warriors are killed in war, then their wives will be without protection and if non-warrior men abduct them and beget children, the progeny will have blood/dna/gunas of both mother and father who are of different varnas, which causes confusion in their minds.

Don't be hurry in giving answers ,take your time ,you will certainly get good upvotes by giving answers with authentic sources.
May 19, 2017 at 15:55 | comment | added | ram | If one is born in Brahmana varna but does not perform rituals, tells lies, eats whatever/wherever he pleases, or is not patient, then he loses Brahmanatvam. Similarly, if one is born as Shudra, but always speaks truth and is patient, then he has characteristics of Brahmana but cannot be called brahmana because he is not allowed to perform rituals or be a priest etc.
