Then there are details about the mantra - Rishi, Chandas, Devata, Bija, Shakti, Varna, Viniyoga, Nyasa-sthana, etc. These are to be learnt later and they are of utmost importance for pursuit of the specific mantra-siddhi. It is okay to "recite" a mantra if the purpose of recitation is for practice so that the mantra-form is not forgotten. However if the goal is to propitiate the deity of the mantra, then it requires education beyond learning the form. | |
