Therefore, it is practically useless in the mahabharata war. One wonders why Arjuna even tried for it. On the other hand I wonder how an immortal can be called an immortal if he/she can be slain. He told Krishna that if dharma is on my side, I will not use those weapons whose invoking is dangerous to mother earth. That's why Krishna was worried about Karna's Shakti received by Indra.
