Can I chant 1. Mantra matruka stava and 2. Mantra matruka pushpamala stava without initiation as these contain panchadashi mantra (which is to be practiced only after initiation under the guidance of a guru as far as I know) and are named mantra stavas.

The second one is said to be written by Shri Adi Shankaracharya, I don't know about the first one. If some body has any clue as to who is the author of the first stava please let me know.

And also please let me know if there are any procedures to be followed if one decides to chant these stavas.

  • What is the problem with reciting the Stotra written by Adi Shankara? – Rickross Sep 28 '18 at 16:34
  • @Rickross because it has letters of a mantra which are not to be changed without initiation – Chakrapani N Rao Sep 28 '18 at 17:34
  • But that is not a problem as it does not explicitly contain the Mantra. Any Mantras are formed with the Matrika Varnas (the 51 Sanskrit alphabets) so there can be many such books/words/sentences that u read which might be containing all the letters of Panchadashi. IMO, it is always better to hv a Panchadashi initiation before reciting the first Stotra but the Adi Shankara written Stotra can be recited without worry. Why wd Adi Shankara compose a Stotra that can not be recited by everyone? Think in this way. – Rickross Sep 29 '18 at 5:49

  • Who was gaudapada s guru in sri vidya? How did he get the upadesham ? – Rakesh Joshi Oct 10 '18 at 1:48

Does it suit you the mantra or the particular deity how to find out ?
step 1 - do the pannchopachar pooja of the deity whose mantra you want to read. step 2 - do the same pannchopachar pooja with nayasa. step 3 - include sankalpa. [take care of direction and ask for forgiveness while doing pooja if u feel there is lot of disturbance during pooja.]

mostly there is a tradition of doing kavach first like shiva/narayan kavach before proceedings for any sadhana.

so there are many steps as such but foremost learn to make a Raksha kavach of the same god or the accompanying god, for example in Hanuman pooja ,ram and hanumaan kavach both works. In kaali pooja shiva and kali kavach both works.

If you just wanna test the step 1 is the litmus test and there are various such steps if you just wanna test without a guru, follow each step for at least 21/45 days to see if anything happens.

your question - i would say refrain if your are without a guru as माँ राजराजेश्वरी ललिता त्रिपुरसुंदरी is one of the ten Mahavidyas and there effect is quiet powerful even if the effect is good one it would be powerful and our body might not be able to handle it.

if looking for money - find puranic vidhi of reading shri sukta/or kuber mantra and hawana far safer then the "ten mahavidyas".

this might give you such reference - http://jyotish-tantra.blogspot.com/2015/02/ma-lalita-tripur-sundari-mantra.html

Welcome to Hinduism Stack Exchange! The question is asking whether mantras can be chanted without initiation. Though you have provided some procedure and sankalpa with forgiveness, however it's better to cite some some authentic sources (preferably scriptures) instead of blogs.
