Anti-Brahmins claim the conspiracy theory that the Smritis, Puranas, Dharma Shastras (especially Manusmriti), Mahabharata and Ramayana were all fabricated by dishonest Brahmins with the intention of oppressing women and shudras, and elevating Brahmins.

My question is, do they also believe that the Vedas, or parts of the Vedas, were also interpolated and tampered with by dishonest and corrupt Brahmins with the goal of oppressing women and shudras?

According to Brahmins, Brahman revealed the Vedas to them, and then the Brahmins disseminated the Vedas to other people. So, it is possible that they tampered with the Vedas while disseminating it.

  • I am reading Rig veda samhita. I does not seem to contain any anti-women statements (at least so far as I read). – I will close your question Dec 2 at 16:22
  • @Iwillcloseyourquestion The Taittiriya Samhita talks about menstruating women being impure. The anti-Brahmins may reject those verses. – Ikshvaku Dec 2 at 16:34

@Iwillcloseyourquestion Also, I wouldn't call these verses "anti-women", inasmuch as I wouldn't call the very restricted lifestyle of male brahmins "anti-Brahmin." – Ikshvaku Dec 2 at 19:56
