Is cutting trees a sin?

I want to cut trees to clear my land to do business. I am ready to sow new trees for every tree cut at some other place.

This land was purchased for doing investment and business purpose only but now I am not feeling good to cut a tree. I feel like I am sinning.

Am I getting over emotional? Am I getting distracted of doing my own karma by fearing of sin?

Is this really sin? Does god forgive person who does a sin even though he knows he is sinning. Am i really sinning? There are lot of such anxious thoughts which are keeping my mind restless.

Also this is a shared land and ownership is shared among my family - mother and brother.
