कुतस्त्वमणुकः स्वतः स्वमिति किं न यत्कस्यचित् किमिच्छसि पदत्रयं ननु भुवा किमित्यल्पया ।
द्विजस्य शमिनो मम त्रिभुवनं तदित्याशयो हरेर्जयति निह्नुतः प्रकटितश्च वक्रोक्तिभिः ॥
"How have you grown so small?" "On my own."
"And what is then your own?" "What isn't any other's."
"What do you want?" "Three steps."
"And why so little land as that?" "Because to me, a brahmin living in content, that seems as much as the three worlds."
